Talk Today – CLWF

The Chris Letendre Wellness Foundation is pleased to partner with CMHA Edmonton to bring its highly respected Talk Today program from junior hockey to junior lacrosse. The Tier 1 junior lacrosse teams across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta will be provided with Mental Health Coaches, Mental Health/Suicide Prevention Workshops, Trained Mental Health Champions and support to the presentation of Talk Today Events/Games to promote mental health awareness. This program will bring tools and strategies to almost 400 young men and raise overall awareness of suicide and the resources available.  Any excess funds will be directed to CMHA Edmonton’s other valuable programs.

The Chris Letendre Wellness Foundation (CLWF) is an established not-for-profit society in Alberta. Tragically in 2020, Chris Letendre took his own life at the age of 25 as he battled with mental health issues. Chris was an avid lacrosse player and all-round sportsman. In 2021, some like minded individuals came together to form a group with the idea to use his story to preserve his memory and call the lacrosse community to action in support of the mental health of junior lacrosse players and build on the memory of Chris to raise awareness of mental health issues in young adults and save lives.
