Supporting Youth Through Grief: New Information Sessions for January 2025

Losing someone to suicide is one of the most challenging experiences a young person can face. For those navigating this difficult journey, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Edmonton Region is here to help with our specialized Youth Suicide Grief Support Services. These programs are designed to provide a safe, compassionate space for healing, connection, and growth.

About the Program

Our Youth Suicide Grief Support Services are tailored to meet the unique needs of youth aged 12-25. These programs offer age-specific support groups:

Each group meets weekly over a 12-week period and focuses on three key modules designed to promote healing and resilience. Before joining a group, participants are encouraged to attend an information session to learn about the program, ask questions, and decide if it’s the right fit for them.

Upcoming Information Sessions

We are pleased to announce our next round of information sessions in January 2025:

Location

All information sessions and group meetings will be held in person at: Prosper Place
10455 172 Street NW
Edmonton, AB

To register for an information session or learn more about the program, please contact Peris at 780-732-6654 or email [email protected]. Space is limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot early.

Why It Matters

Grief following a suicide loss can feel isolating and overwhelming, but no one has to face it alone. Our program provides a supportive environment where youth can share their experiences, learn coping strategies, and build a sense of hope for the future. Together, we can navigate the journey toward healing and resilience.

Final Thoughts

If you or someone you know could benefit from these services, we encourage you to reach out. Let’s work together to create a community of understanding and support.

You are not alone. Help is here.
