About CMHA Edmonton and the 24-Hour Distress Line
Founded in 1918, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health federation in Canada. Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and the Yukon. CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.
This year, we mark 50 years of Edmonton’s 24-hour Distress Line service, which has served hundreds of thousands of people in crisis and trained thousands of community volunteers to intervene in mental health, family violence and suicide crises. The proceeds from this year’s event will directly benefit the operation of CMHA-Edmonton’s Distress Line. Your contribution helps ensure this critical service is there for those who need it most.
