Honouring Excellence: CMHA Edmonton Staff Awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal

We are proud to share that several members of the CMHA Edmonton team have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal, a national honour bestowed on Canadians who exemplify service, compassion, and leadership in their communities.

What is the King Charles III Coronation Medal?

In 2023, to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, the Government of Canada issued 30,000 medals. These prestigious awards were given to individuals who have:

• Made significant contributions to Canadian society,
• Served with distinction in the Armed Forces or public service,
• Or achieved accomplishments that bring honour to Canada.

While the medal itself is a symbol of national recognition, the true value lies in what it represents: a life of service that uplifts others.

Why This Honour Matters

Receiving a coronation medal is more than a formal distinction—it is an acknowledgment of meaningful, sustained impact. It shines a light on everyday heroes whose efforts might otherwise go unrecognized. For those of us working in mental health, it is particularly meaningful to see our peers celebrated for advancing equity, compassion, and resilience in our community.
