The Canadian Mental Health Association – Edmonton Region (CMHA – ER) is seeking board members who are strategic thinkers and can contribute meaningfully to positioning CMHA – ER as the pivotal mental health organization in our community. We are an inclusive, proactive, compassionate, and collaborative organization with a mission to ensure all people experience good mental health.
At CMHA – ER, we aim to deepen our diversity and bring a thoughtful perspective to an overarching strategic direction. We welcome board members with a wide range of world views, including people with Indigenous, racialized, and newcomer perspectives and those who will add clinical or academic expertise in mental health, substance use, and other core knowledge areas. We would also welcome those with expertise in various levels of government as well as those with legal, real estate, accounting, and financing experience.
We are a governance board with meetings held quarterly. Board members are expected to serve on at least one committee, with somewhat more frequent meetings. Terms are for two years beginning in September and are renewable.
Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest outlining their interest in joining the board, qualifications, relevant experience, and thoughts about the goals and outcomes they would like to see as a result of their service.
Please submit letters to board@cmha-edmonton.ab.ca with the subject line “Board Application” no later than July 16, 2021.
