Housing Diversion

Preventing Homelessness. Supporting Stability.

The Housing Diversion Program

Are you, or someone you know, struggling to keep your housing or at risk of losing it? The Housing Diversion Program is here to help individuals and families in Edmonton living with mental health challenges stay housed and secure long-term stability.

We understand how difficult housing instability can be, especially when it’s tied to mental health. That’s why our team includes Housing Coordinators and Peer Support Workers who have personal experience — offering support that’s compassionate, practical, and grounded in real-life understanding.

What We Offer:

  1. Rapid Rehousing for those currently unhoused (up to 30 days of recent housing loss)
  2. Eviction Prevention & Mediation with landlords
  3. Education on the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA)
  4. Help applying for rental subsidies and affordable housing
  5. System navigation to connect you with the right services
  6. Peer-based support from people who’ve been there

In Partnership With:

CMHA Edmonton Region, Homeward Trust, the City of Edmonton, and Government of Alberta, working together to expand access to housing and mental health supports.
