Cost: There is no cost to attend the workshop. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Donations to CMHA Edmonton welcomed.
A call comes from a loved one: “I’ve been arrested… I’m in jail… I have to go to Court.“ What can you do?
Families and supporters will learn about the Criminal Justice system from arrest to resolution, the Mental Health Court, and how to identify and to communicate with judges, duty counsel, court clerk, probation officer, navigators, police, and other officials. Talks, Q and A, and tours will be delivered by Provincial Court staff and Alberta Health Services professionals.
This is also a day for meeting and learning from other families and supporters.
The workshop is for family members and other active supporters of adults living with the effects of serious mental illness and professionals engaged in this area. There are 75 spots available for supporters who are family/friends, and 25 for professional staff.
