Crisis intervention Basics (Full Size: 12 hrs.)

The course is designed for individuals working in a professional environment, who are seeking to deepen their understanding of the nature of crises, and to develop effective strategies for supporting those in active crisis situations. This course is in the process of being developed into a recognized micro-credential course.

Course Objectives:

• Define Crisis
  • Identify various behavioral and psychological responses to a crisis.
  • Examine Roberts’ Seven Stage Crisis Intervention Model as a framework for intervention.
  • Identify at least 2 community resources that support individuals in the Edmonton Area during an active crisis.

• Delivery Formats: The course is facilitated in-person.
• Course Length: 12 hours of instruction.
• Rate: $250.00 per person

Fee

The fee for this course is $250.00 per person.

Registration

Pre-registration for Crisis Intervention Basics is required. Spaces will not be held without payment. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you cannot be present for all hours of the workshop, you will not receive your certification. You cannot re-take the missed time and will be required to re-take the entire workshop at your expense, to receive your certification.

Cancellation Policy: CMHA-ER reserves the right to cancel workshops if minimum registration numbers are not met; if CMHA-ER elects to cancel a workshop, full refunds will be issued.

If a participant cancels their registration, a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply. If a participant cancels their registration fewer than 2 business days prior to the workshop, a refund will not be issued.

Transfer Policy: If you need to move your registration to a different course date, a $50.00 transfer fee applies. Please note that transfers cannot be made within 48 hours of the workshop. Once a transfer is processed, the registration can no longer be canceled.
